JunoPacific combines the full resources of facilities located in key medical device markets in Minneapolis/St. Paul and the Silicon Valley, focusing on medical molding and assembly. Services range from tooling, part design and prototyping to micro/close tolerance molding, single and true multi-shot injection molding, vertical molding, reel-to-reel, insert molding, complex tooling that includes Spin-stack and rotary platen, multi-component/multi-material product assembly, secondary operations and validated sterile packaging.

Position Summary

The Plastics Process Technician is responsible for the installation of molds, development of process parameters, support of validation activities, and troubleshooting production issues for new and existing tooling.


Essential Job Functions

  • Utilize scientific molding principles to establish capable processes for new and existing tooling
  • Execute validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) that comply with FDA regulations
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and lead root cause/corrective action investigations
  • Support Operational Excellence by identifying and executing initiatives that lead to improved performance
  • Provide technical coaching and feedback to production employees and the support team
  • Ensure complex molds are installed and removed according to the setup sheets and instructions
  • Inspect molded parts using basic metrology tools and equipment
  • Ensure no production time or yield is lost because of faulty setup
  • Serve as a resource for Setup Technicians

  • Ability to read and understand quality plans
  • Familiarity with scientific molding principles or ability to learn
  • Experience with mold setup
  • Experience in clean room medical molding and medical polymers
  • Experience with molding small-micro molded components
  • Must be capable of understanding of the rheology of polymers
  • Must possess the ability to troubleshoot issues using disciplined root cause analysis tools
  • Complete understanding of a variety of plastic injection molding machines and secondary operations equipment
  • Operates forklifts and overhead cranes
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to occasionally:  lift 10-50lbs, carry 10-50lbs and to stand, bend and stoop
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of injection molding experience with a strong preference towards medical
